This outperforms any product on your shelf

OK, I'm going to make a somewhat controversial statement today:

No beauty product in the world—no matter how expensive or "revolutionary"—can ever match the transformative power of a consistent practice.

This isn't something the beauty industry wants us to believe. After all, there's not much profit in telling women that their own two hands and consistent attention might be more powerful than the latest miracle serum.

But after working with hundreds of women through face yoga over the last five years, I've seen this truth play out again and again.

Here's what I've observed about the power of a face yoga practice:

🍃 Products come and go; practices evolve with you. How many "miracle" products have you tried that worked for a while, then seemed to stop? Or that you used enthusiastically for a few weeks before relegating them to the back of your drawer? Practices, on the other hand, grow with you. The face yoga sequence that helps you today can be adjusted as your needs change over time.

🍃 Products work from the outside in; practices work from the inside out. Even the best topical products can only reach the surface layers of your skin. But practices like face yoga and gua sha affect the foundation beneath your skin—toning muscles, improving circulation, stimulating lymphatic drainage and collagen production, releasing tension patterns, and even influencing how you hold your face in daily life.

🍃 Products create dependence; practices build empowerment. When we rely on products, we're always at the mercy of companies, wondering what will happen if they discontinue our favorites. Practices become part of us—skills we carry wherever we go, requiring nothing but our own awareness and commitment.

🍃 Products drain your wallet; practices enrich your life. The average American woman spends over $3,700 per year on her appearance. While there's nothing wrong with investing in quality products you love, imagine if even a fraction of that money (and the time spent researching and shopping) went toward developing practices that nurture both inner and outer beauty.

I think about my client Rachel who came to me after spending thousands on treatments that promised to reduce her deep forehead lines. Despite all that investment, she (like most of us at some point) was still unhappy with what she saw in the mirror, especially since she had to keep going back to those treatments just to maintain.

But after just a few weeks of consistent face yoga practice, she noticed something shifting—not just in the appearance of those lines, but in her entire relationship with her face. She told me she’s "not obsessing over lines anymore" and feels like she is finally caring for her face instead of fighting with it.

That's the magic of practice—it transforms not just how you look, but how you feel about how you look.

Now, I want to be clear: I'm not against products! I have my favorites that I use and love. The key is seeing them as supporting players rather than the stars of the show.

When products take center stage in our beauty routine, we're constantly chasing the next breakthrough ingredient or formula. But when practice takes center stage, we develop a foundation that makes everything else work better.

This principle extends far beyond face yoga.

Think about other practices that enhance both inner and outer beauty: quality sleep, mindful movement, stress reduction, nourishing food choices, creative expression, meaningful connection.

These aren't quick fixes—they're investments that compound over time, creating a kind of radiance that no product can replicate.

What I love most about the power of practice is that it returns agency to us. Instead of pinning our hopes on the promises made by beauty companies, we recognize that our consistent, loving attention is the most powerful beautifying force available to us.
